I get mine serviced after 5 years, or when it needs it (i.e. gains or loses too much time).
On mine, that's the recommendation. If they are running well, I owuld go past 5 years...maybe up to 7 years. The costs vary by model, but between £400 and £600 dependant on model. They DO come back looking awesome, and with a certificate of service (which increases the value of the watch). Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

My interest in watches is that they tell the time (accurately) they are visible in the dark and that they are robust enough to take a few bangs and crashes. My function over form, Suunto Core fulfills and surpasses all my time keeping needs.

Had mine four years now, and oddly enough a letter arrived from Goldsmiths yesterday asking me to arrange a service. Cheer than the Defender hopefully. Ian One wife - livid

Watches are another passion of mine and i've been quite lucky to own a few, sadly most have gone now.
Ive had Rolex and they are nice but imo the recent price rises have put them well into the high end makers, I owned a Glashutte for around 1 year, slightly more than a Rolex DSSD but the quality was in another league. Probably the 2 missed the most are a Breitling Superocean Heritage 46 and and a Brequet XXI in rose gold. I will try and dig out a few pics |

I swapped my Submariner for a Defender in 2006
My favorite watch now I've only just bought, it's a Land Rover diving watch with rubber strap that I bought off a forum member for £20 |

Breitling Cosmonaute 1997 Serie Speciale with glass bottom and one of the old movements. Shame they gave up producing the Cosmonautes and the movements, only the Navytimers are left
