We're reconsidering what dog food we buy for our two Labradors.
Currently we're buying brilliant food - a kibble and wet food with zero ash and rubbish. The dogs coats are fantastic and they are very well indeed on it. It is however very expensive - http://www.bobandlush.com What do you dog owners buy and rate? I'd value your suggestions. |

My 4 (now 3) working sheepdogs have only ever had a diet of more or less 100% dried bagged food, generally Dr Johns Silver (15kg for £9.99) or something similar if the local garage has it,.
They occasionally find something dead to chew on but otherwise that is all they ever have. 1 recently died aged 16, 1 is 11 and 2 are 9 years old and none have ever had a day off work or a vets visit (other than to be spayed) in their lives. |

Pero for our Lab.
We tried a few when we 1st got him from a rescue centre and Pero was the only one that didn't upset him ( and us ). The only other thing he eats is anything he finds !!!!!!!!!! |

Quest plus and Quest extra during racing season. With raw chicken and eggs. Powered us to second place in the 6 dog class in uk husky championship. An affordable high performance food.
Depends on what you are doing with your dogs and their energy requirements. |

I've tried them all, but for the last 2yrs my Black Alsation and Choc Lab have both been on Pets at Home own brand biscuits.Ella(alsation) had lost her shine, was moulting heavily and lethargic, but now has a beautiful coat and stacks of energy. Drum(lab) looked like a drum and no energy, but now is back to ideal weight, has lots of energy and regularly jumps 5-Bar gates(never seen any other dog do this). I do mix a bit of tripe with the biscuits and give occasional treats.
They've both been for regular health checks and vet very impressed. When I questioned him on the 'very' expensive well known make they were selling I was told "Don't waste your money, nothing will be better than what they are on considering results" |

I'm with Warpig. Can be a bit messy from time to time, but my dogs love it.

I feed 2 of my labs Chudleys classic during the summer then working crunch during the shooting season, my little girl lab has renal support S she has grade 2 kidney failure probably due to metacam when she was spayed !
I think I may be right in thinking that working food is zero VAT but happy to be corrected on that Greg |
