Wing Top Protectors on Orkney Grey Defender 90
Top of the morning to you,

I have a defender 90 in orkney grey supposedly by next week and I have purchased last week the Chequer plating in Black for the sides and the wing top protectors. In addition I also bought the front lamp protectors for my car which is also beneficial and adds style to the front end.

As of today I am convinced on the rest of the chequer plating package for the sides and it does add contrast to the look of the car. My car is equipped with the black grille and the orange lights which I do believe is standard base model.

Its a 2013 Defender 90 in Orkney Grey and hopefully with your contributions either opinion or images would be grateful to me.

I am undecided and a thought in the top of my mind is that they might look overboard on my car. I don't want to ruin the look just want something subtle and tastefully accessorised. 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition

That would look even good same colour different texture. I like that Idea, however I am also keen in seeing how the black genuine part would look on orkney grey.

Some modifications need a lot of other tidbits done to enhance the look such as bumpers, black alloys etc to compliment one single modification which I am not thinking of doing right now. 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition

Black would be a good contrast against your colour ,but its up to your own taste at the end of the day Thumbs Up

Yes its nice but I am slightly conservative with my cars. At the current stage I am going to hand over the rest of the chequer plating and see how it would look. As they are installing that I will pop by with my wing top protectors and fit them (without installing) on the bonnet and see how it would look. Just have a stare at it and see how it looks under lighting or sun and then will decide from there. 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition

I'm not keen on loads of chequer plate (unless it is meant to be there (i.e. Tombraider LE) but I fitted wing top protectors to my mine to save marks and dents from tools, coffee mugs and camping trips.

I think black works well.

Here's a sort of negative compare and contrast... (I didn't like the contrasting silver against black)

More to the point - would anybody notice Rolling with laughter

Back on topic, black is the way to go. Silver CP seems to look jaded after a while.

I am just about to fit black CP on the Firenze red 90. Only mod I am doing is using anodised ali screws to fit it to stop the staining that seems to come with the standard black screws. The anodised screws are NOT cheap Shocked

Thanks mate, saw it but yours is an x-tech its a good thing to look at but its not a judgement as it can flow better due to your special car has more black accents. 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition
