Sankey Security
I've seen a few pictures of Sankey trailers with hitch locks fitted. They seem to comprise two steel plates that sandwich the towing eye with, presumably, some sort of mechanism to lock them together.

Does anybody recognise what I'm talking about and know where to source such a thing? Darren

I'll dismantle mine and take some pictures. I think RLD might have made some, mine came with the trailer.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for that. Your one has the over-engineered look of an MOD design, itself. Obviously not a bad thing when it comes to security. Darren

A motorcycle chain lock through the lunette works pretty well, wrap it round as many times as possible and keep the slack to a minimum.

I made a pin and disc lock many years ago from half-inch boilerplate and a spare towing pin, it isn't hard to do, but I'm not sure where it is now. Sold the Sankey (with hindsight a mistake) but kept the lock.

I've got a pair of brake discs padlocked through mine, in a way that makes it hard to get a pair of cutters on the hoop.

If I've got it stored at home rather than at my secure storage then I put a motorcycle disc lock alarm through one of the brake discs too. It's super sensitive, so if anyone disturbs the set up the alarm goes off.

Thumbs Up
