Swivel Grease / EP90
Hi all

I searched a bit to see if this question was already answered but I could not find what I was looking for.

I went to check the oil in the swivels on my 1984 110 and found that it was filled with grease. I don't have an easy find for the "one shot" grease to replace this with. Does anyone know if there is a suitable generic replacement that I should be able to find locally here in Canada. Is this some high temp bearing grease or something uber-special?

Cheers

Timo,

what I see is that all grease and oil producers do have some type of CV-Grease. Looks as the trick is in added Moby etc etc to withstand pressure and temps better. You should be able to find it locally, guess mentioning Ashcrofts etc have it doesn't help much.

Anyway looks as it's nothing exotic, and as EP90 was doing the job for decades on our high performance defenders i guess some mainstream available CV grease will cover your needs.

Smile

As it's an early 110, it should have the Raiko bush at the top of the swivel housing, rather than a bearing, and should technically have oil in it, not the one shot grease. I think the correct spec is EP90, but don't quote me on that

Yes it should, and currently does, have EP90 on the one side that I was working on and blew the grease out. From what I remember once grease goes in you can't use EP90 anymore. My assumption is that the PO used grease because the swivels were leaking. Me putting EP90 in it should prove this true or false. Thanks for the info. I will see what I can find locally

p.s. Picked up a Corgi Series I 109 at an antique store today for about 8 quid!

Cheers
