Battery and Fuel ??
Parked the 04 Td5 up a few months ago and thought I'd better give it a run. The battery was flat so I jump-started it with the old 200 and all seemed fine except I couldn't hear the fuel pump. Anyway went for a quick run down the road and very little power after a certain ammount of revs plus it wouldn't go over 35-40mph. I would like your opinions as to whether the flat battery and jump-starting has somehow damaged the fuel pump or if the problem lies elsewhere.. Confused
Many thanks.. [/b] 04' 90 Td5 CSW..

It wouldn't have started if the fuel pump had failed completely.

Can you check the battery with a multimeter, both with the engine running and without?

The fuel pump is low and high pressure. If the high pressure part fails you will only get up to low revs, about 2200 if I remember correctly. This happened to my TD5 disco, second hand pump fixed the problem. Maybe someone will know of a test you can do. Flat battery and jump starting should not have affected the pump.
