Help sourcing nuts and bolts for Warn CEXD9000i winch
I'm looking to source 4 new nuts, bolts and washers to secure my Warn CE XD900i winch on to my winch bumper. Took the winch off to clean it up and the old nuts and bolts have had it.

OEM Warn parts would come in at about £15 for the 4 delivered!!!

The nuts have to be square as they recess and become, effectively, locking nuts. High tensile square nuts seem to be pretty rare.

Loads of people must replace these nuts and bolts - anyone done it lately who could help me source the right bits? I want to get this right as I don't want a winch jumping off my bumper! 300 TDi 110 CSW

How about http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page=sho...;Itemid=14

They just look like M8 bolts with a square roofing bolt nut. Are there no fasteners suppliers close to you?

They look perfect - I'll get on to those. They didn't come up on any of my searches. I did find some square roofing bolts locally but they didn't have a tensile rating. 300 TDi 110 CSW

Roofing bolts are hardly likely to have a decent tensile rating on them. I believe Gwyn Lewis has the correct Bolts

It's only the nuts that are square, grade 8 should be easy to source, then just normal HT 8.8 bolts, again you should have no problem sourcing these locally.

Cheers

The way a winch is mounted there will be no stripping of the bolts it would be a shearing force on the bolt. The nut is just holding the bolt in position so it's the bolt is where the tensile strength is needed
