When will Alive's white background come available? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

The rings are plastic.
Prep by washing thoroughly to degrease, rough up surface (using the washing up 'green thing' scourer does this well ) Once totally dry (put in the airing cupboard overnight) spray using a plastic primer (available in aerosol from Halfords), a couple of coats will be enough just to cover the original colour, allow to dry (you maybe pushing it putting it in the airing cupboard now ....) Once dry paint with your aerosol colour of choice, again a few coats and allow to dry. To finish a few coats of clear lacquer It's an easy job and the results look great as Steve has shown Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

You can just I didn't have any primer or wet and dry paper and Killer did so he did it. But I had some gloss black paint and clear coat so I finished the rest. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |

Just read your post too Matt. Yours do too you've even gone and done the dial mounts too. You really should have gone for a glossy black backing with the same colour rings though. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I haven't decided on colours yet, that was just an 'exercise' to establish how easy it would be to do ...

Ah good. I just find it's time consuming really rather than difficult. Can be annoying though if you get a problem and you have to start all over again. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
