Lowering my 90... Balancing needs with SWMBO requirements
Before anyone says it... yes, I've read through most of the posts on the subject, but none really answer my questions...

There are dozens of threads on the subject, but after reading most of them, I'm more confused than when I started!

I need to lower the SVX by between 1 & 2"...

SWMBO says I can't spend 1500 on a full suspension package, so for the moment if looks like I can only do the springs. So, can I just swap out the springs to give me the necessary height reduction (for the moment). And if so, which springs?

People talk about colours, progressive, H/D, standard etc etc etc... But with me being of simple mind, the simple answer is what I'm looking for. Pertinent fact is that the 90 is 99% road, with at most the odd rough farm track, so more road focused handling is important as is tha fact that my work car-park is a tight 2.05m.

My current thinking is get some springs first, then replace the anti-roll bars, then do the shocks. I want to keep the standard SVX wheels and tyres as I like them as they are. '09 SVX #200

Mine is lowered 4 cm just with the springs. I paid a lot to get them from a German company (loads of official papers you have to have here) but I'm sure there are cheaper options in the UK. The handling is great and the Defender looks quite "normal" Thumbs Up

If it's any use: http://www.matzker.de/Parts-Accessories/fu...:3484.html Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Just post in the wanted section for "Lowered springs" - it may get a bit more attention. The sponsors on here will certainly have some good ideas, especially tuners like Pete Bell (bell-auto-services), Gary at Alive, and Killer "how low can you go" 90 Laughing

Good luck Thumbs Up Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
