Going to change the front seats on the 90 and after peoples thoughts/advice.
As the 90 is being used mainly off road I need something with more support and grip. The 110 has Exmoor Le Mans which are great seats but no longer available plus expensive. Top of the list are Cobra Monaco's. I have tried them in another forum members vehicle and they seemed fine. I know bucket seats can be a pain (literally !) to get in and out of but myself and SWHMBO are not exactly large so that is not really an issue. Any other good (cheapish Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

We used to have bucket seats in our 100" challenge motor but I (as the one who had to get out a lot) found them to be a complete PITA. Anything with a 'lip' on the edge you have to lift your leg up and over to get out of and likewise on getting back in the movement isn't very smooth either ! I found them really tiring after a while, like when green laning or doing winches when you are hopping in and out quickly time and again ... Yes, you keep you a lot more cocooned but otherwise not particularly practical for general off-roading or challenge (we found anyway).
Second time Dave took the 100" to Oz we ditched the buckets and went for a pair of Britpart 'replacement' seats (xs lookalikes but at a fraction of the cost) and they've been really very comfortable - even on the 10 hour trip from Sydney to Broken Hill! I have the same seats in my 90 now (commuting 200 miles a week) and they are fine. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |
