Steering Drop Arm Ball Joint on TD5 90

Hi,

Just noticed the rubber boot has split on ball joint.

Is this an easy fix - split joint and fit a new boot?

What parts do I need?

Any help and guidance appreciated.

I think it is as simple as that.
On mine, I did notice that:

A. The there is a spring that holds the boot in place that had snapped
B. The groove on the drop arm that the rubber boot fits into had also been mullered overtime so the spring/boot would not sit in properly.

As I was swapping the steering box at the time I wasn't overly concerned as I had purchased a new drop arm complete with rubber boot etc.

I think from memory, I undid the nut part way and used a ball joint splitter to undo it. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Have a chat with a good motor factors, my neighbour and I were talking the other day and there are repair kits available i.e. new boots, spring clips etc. If the joint is good might be a more economical fix.
