Mick, sounds like they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
Maybe get them to highlight it and that they think it is fine and then take it to a different dealer? Then there will be a case for compensation of travel costs etc. I must admit that my clutch has been rattling quite bad for the past 10,000 miles but other than the noise it is fine. I don't trust the dealership out here to do the work so waiting until it goes and will then change it myself. Glyn ![]() ![]() |

That's what I am thinking , the bit that annoys me is the fact that they have told me they av been out in it but I know they haven't and they tell me you can't clean the Egr where people on here have

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud here but you are right AFAIK you can clean the EGR but the likely-hood of that being very successful I have my doubts.. For the trouble of getting it out in the first place I would rather remove it and fit a new one than attempt to clean it. At least then it can be left alone for a very long time. I must admit though un-less your thinking of doing it yourself the labour charges + a new EGR is steep. I was quoted £300 + for mine to be done. Needless to say I bought the New EGR valve myself (again cheaper) AND the tools I needed to do it myself that I didn't have I.e. torque wrench & code reader. All in all I paid approx £130 less than half. A bit of a pain to do but well worth it for the cost saving and you get too keep the tools IF you don't have them already. ![]() ____/π¬π§πΊπΈ\____ _//*β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°*\\_ |

Just an idea but when you take your car back to the dealers reset the mileage on the trip and put it back on to odommeter so they cant see it on zero and then check it on collection that way you will know if they have been out for a run. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Ah I see then for you it makes sense to have it done for you by LR then. I would have too if I was in your position.
