Console lighting
Hi, I'm a proud new owner of a defender, first outing in the dark I discovered 1 x headlight bulb out, now replaced.
And then I noticed I cannot see the heater controls, (09reg xs)
Should it be illuminated when the lights are on?
If so, does anyone know where / how to locate the bulb or the fuse.
Thanks

When I got my Defender NONE of the dash lights worked! you can get 'em from Halfords, but I got mine mail order from here:

http://www.svetila.com/en/light-bulbs-lamp...l-503.html
http://www.svetila.com/en/light-bulbs-lamp...l-517.html

The whole dash is easy-peasy to remove - just 4 screws - and from there you'll see the bulbs you need!

Make sure you chose the right ones!

...and no, I couldn't believe how cheap they were either!

Of course, you can always get an LED replacement kit and go for cool blue or something like that, I was sorely tempted!

On the dash centre where the fan 1 2 3 speed / power control is. Is there a bulb directly behind there? My dash is illuminated fine but this one area appears to be very dark indeed. Just wondering if a bulb is gone there. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Is there a way to turn the console lighting off, when parked & locked but with the parking lights on?

My manual, page 31 indicates switch setting 2 makes it unavoidable to leave the console lit. Just for extra info for anyone interested. The bulbs for behind the centre dash are 1.2w capless bulbs. I just bought a couple from Shukers for peanuts. Thumbs Up Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
