Steering wheel advice
Ok so my 48 spline steering wheel needs replacing as the rubber has come away from the metal core.

Thing is I have no idea what's good and what's not.....I know either Momo or Sparco is good but they are expensive.... Shocked

So any advice or experiences to be shred would be welcomed.....

Thank you all......

Usually plenty on eBay if you just wanted to go for a like-for-like replacement. Often at very reasonable prices too, because usually people are just getting rid of them because they've upgraded to a Momo or similar. I'm still unsure whether to go for a different 'upgrade' wheel or not. Part of me really likes my oversize Land Rover wheel! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I have just bought a Momo off fleebay and the quality is good the thing is you need to buy a boss for to fit it and every one I can find looks like it is around 4" deep which must bring the steering wheel very close to you, I have read lost of threads on here about this issue but I have not read of a solution, saying that one guy did make his own from an old steering wheel but that is way above my skill level. I see there are removable bosses out there that look a lot slimmer but I am not sure they are 100% compatible, maybe someone out there can give us some definitive insight into the steering wheel boss dilemma.

Got a very nice Moto Lita from mudstuff. Reasonable price loverly quality, and does not have the stupid lumps at 10 & 2 o'clock, as I don't like them.

Ive replaced mine with a momo. It did need the deep boss that jayaway44 mentions. Ive also got a quick release boss fitted on top of this so I can remove the steering wheel.

Im a big bloke and have the seat pushed right back, but the although the boss's bring the steering wheel closer to me, it doesnt cause me any problems at all. You can see my deeper boss in this picture..

i would either go original or get a good quality wheel. made the mistake on my 300 of buying a cheaper one, regretted it and put the old one back on.... Embarassed BM52

I agree with WarPig, the boss + quick release boss brings the wheel closer but that's only an issue if you have the original huge Defender wheel. My Momo Tuner is 350mm dia and that makes it a whole load easier to get in and out of your seat. It is closer but not a problem, I also have seat risers so I can get the seat back further. 90 XS
