mine does 75-80 fine although i sit at 65-70

Another point you know they are limited at 85mph - which is going to be annoying when we get to germany

Land Rover Assist over the last 7yrs has been the best - although i do also have full AA cover since my disco went outside its warranty.

LR Assist in my opinion will be fine. Mike

No trouble - just another aside on the 85mph limiter it can be removed - i think the cost is £200 with one of the LR tuners in the mag. Im just ordering my own pc interface so may (stress may) be able to remove it myself on mine Mike

Personally, while I've had it on the limiter more than I care to admit, it's not something I could do for any length of time as it's very tiring. 70-75 is fine. A 110 may be more comfortable for the longer jaunts but 90s are fun Mr. Green

I have the speed de-limiter box installed on mine and No Do$h hits the nail on the head, mine will now cruise at 90 and max out at 100 (on the Sat Nav not the speedo) I have done other things to it, including BFG AT's 30 mm Aluminium spacers, new shocks etc, and although it handles well and stops well you wouldnt want to do it all day as the noise is quite monotonous and it is definitely an "all hands on deck" driving experience!

I had an N reg 90 300 tdi from new that would pull 100 and was definitely more hairy than the new one at speed!

As to long distance travelling, it wouldnt worry me in the slightest, comfy and leisurely, thats the key Thumbs Up it has enough power as standard to sit on the limiter on the motorway, but a very strange feeling, almost a rocking sensation, I removed the limiter for Health and Safety reasons Whistle when it is limited it does lull you into a false sense of security as it pulls so well up to the limiter that when it turns on and you are mid overtake Shocked you WILL have a brown pants moment at some stage. Just on this, I have noticed that the speedo on the 07 Defender is pretty accurate. Mine reads about 102km/h for 100km/h via GPS. And we don't have the limiter on the Australian spec. either - so far I've only tried it up to 145km/h (about 90mph).

You will also have to develop a 'smart box of electronics' and then solder it into the wiring loom. Oh and I think that your PC wont talk to your Land Rover. You will have to buy an Autologic diagnostic puter to do that. May I ask what PC interface you have ordered Question

No its a ready made sollution!

It is the new Rovocom - basically Autologic/Test book.

I have access to autologic through a good friend, but have decided i want my own.

Basically it gives you one vehicle (so on the one im getting you cant use it on multiple cars) and then a web interface to all the on board computers that you can then interrogate sensors, change settings etc...just as autologic.

One reason im getting it is when we go to morroco i dont want to be in the desert with a ECU type fault i cant either clear or identify - then there will be my own long term benefits.

Ive got the order sorted and the cash is ready i just havent got round to ringing them up and saying YES here is the money. Mike
