insurance company rant - slightly different to usual
when an accident occurs, a car is badly written off (in a fatal accident) the insurance company tell you that it will be crushed, face to face by an employee and then the car turns up on ebay - for breaking (in its horrendously damaged state)

what's going on here? i was assured the car to be crushed and i was even told that there was a dvla letter stating the car had to be crushed but its just turned up in a breakers yard whats that all about?

waiting to hear back from them about this... highly annoyed.

an investigation has been launched into how it wasn't disposed of correctly by the insurance company, and the investigating police officer from the crash is also now looking into it...

Not quite sure of the problem here: the DVLA will have been notified that the vehicle’s been written off, and if it’s a Category A or B it can never again be put on the road.

But provided the body shell (or separate chassis) is crushed, the ABI Salvage Code of Practice allows for spares or scrap to be taken off it, and the insurance company will have sold the wreckage on to a third party on this condition.

If you don't feel you've been given a fair valuation, that's a different matter.

hi, its now subject to an investigation, when the insurance company called the people paid to get rid of it, they where told 'it had already been crushed' (even tho it's on ebay and i visited it yesterday at the breakers yard and got photos to confirm it)
the dvla is in the process of suspending there license...
