Tried watching it last week. Put up with the overblown drama for about 10 minutes then deleted. Dreadful.

I know it is TV and all that jazz, but the whole premise of it just annoys me. Like they are 'on their own' out there business and have to get back to civilisation thing ... oh yeah? with a full camera crew being flown in every day? Can't be doing with Bear Grylls stuff for the same reason.

People all around the world are quietly going about their normal everyday activities in 4x4s with more danger and adventure than that. Or going on self-funded / charitable expeditions across inhospitable landscapes with no film production crew support.....

Some of their off-roading skills are dire, contrary to the ex-military guys so called expertise!

Total pants, drivel, etc, etc. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

I have to agree. Was very disappointed. The adverts looked great, although obviously would have been better with a defender instead of the jeep. The programme was way OTT. Rolling Eyes Difficult to continue watching. Shame. Sad

With the American guy wearing a "I luv Wuu" cap, then building a bridge using up the ratchet straps and leaving them behind.!!!!

Well said Pam

I saw a trailer or it and that was enough, your typical "Woo Yeah" Yanks, (sorry you chaps over there, I know from personal experience you are not all like that, even in the South)

I just find myself growling at the TV before switching it off.

One thing that gets me is how the car is driven so fast on the wrong terrain. So called "to make it back safely" well good luck with that driving like a maniac your bound to destroy the vehicle. Driving skills and decent safety all down the pan.. 1) fell down a cravasse in ice 2) broke halfshaft 3) nearly get crushed crawling about under hi-lift jack. 4) multiple times could have rolled over and no roll cage in sight or seat belts/ harnesses for that matter 5) nearly falling 30ft out of a tree 6) crossing fast flowing rivers without really checking depth. 7) Not very good safe use of the winch Cool Driving through undergrowth without knowing where your going.. Rolling Eyes

I reckon I could do better myself.

I find it funny how the yank is obsessing about mustn't stall musn't stall. I thought the Puma would be far superior. Whistle _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

I've just got back into the UK after 14 weeks away with very limited TV. So sat down to watch this. Very hard to watch all the way through. But in a morbid curiosity I had to.
Some of the driving was pure Censored . The episode I watched was set in the rain forest. Driving that fast through undergrowth is plain stupid. He billed himself as a driving master. But if you looked closely he was driving with his thumbs hooked in the steering wheel. Poor route selection, driving across a river without knowing it's real depth, getting stuck in the shallow ruts on the logging track, winching the veh out of ruts at a stupid angle.

A lot of high fiving going on for doing nothing special. A decent challenge event in the UK will provide a more extreme obstacles to cross. A whole lot of hot air from 2 self important people. Did they elude to the Brit being ex special forces?? 110 D250 SE HT

I suffered the whole episode and after watching the way the guy drives, I will be pondering about watching the next episode..Shame, as it had the makings of what could have been a good series. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Very true. Annoying part is a few that are new to it all that are in the learning curve of what is right and wrong with off road driving and winching ect could well go and copy and get injured. Yes, I know it has a warning at the start a basic don't try this at home but let's face it who's going to take any notice of that... _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

I'm liking it it's fun. Yes it is staged and awfully American but it is not billed as anything other than entertainment. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
