I know this is a discovery advert but it has always been one of my favourite of all the land rover adds

I'm sure it's all down to the hippys and greenpeace and the like, but comparing the old LR adverts to the new ones they're completely different, the new ones are quite boring in comparison.

Just in that Defender advert you see Defenders tear arsing through the desert, jumping sand dunes, up to the windscreen in water, etc, and all you seem to see on the adverts for the Puma (not seen it advertised on TV, only on the LR website) is a 110 splashing along a beach, or pootling along a rocky road.

Same with the Disco, that Camel Trophy video shoes Disco's being pushed to the absolute limit. The D4 adverts on TV now are so boring, I can't even remember the last one I saw... think it was a bloke dropping some washing off at a launderette and a spider crawls out of it. *yawn*

I know it's not Land Rovers fault Global Warming was invented, but I always end up daydreaming and thinking 'what if'... What if new Land Rovers were advertised in the same was as the old ones, what if the Camel Trophy was still running, and what if they used brand new Defenders, D4's and Range Rovers, what if there was still huge parts of the planet to be discovered, and Land Rover's were off on expeditions to discover them... what if...

It's a dutch advert and the dutch word for advert is "commercial" Scaling the real deal.

Nice ad - shame Landrover still thinks its acceptable to have the first line of defence when it comes to problems as "it's a defender"
