2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green

Good imperial (x/y inch) socket sets

I need a good socket set in imperial sizes for my Series 2 (1958), to include wheel nut sizes. Can anyone recommend a set &/or maker? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Forge Steel available from Screwfix. Metric and imperial sizes available.

Forge Steel are OK but

Most of the FS stuff I have got is rusting badly. OK only surface rust but I think it says something about the quality.

Bob - Perhaps you have different kit to me? All the same mine haven't rusted what so ever but they are always kept in the case so never get damp unless used.

Could be Steve but I won't reveal who I work for

I live in a converted church and the air does tend to be a bit moist so surface rust does happen however my Teng kit never suffers from the problem.

All down to personal choice I suppose, but Teng tools have served me well and Teng (or Halfords professional) are all I tend to use now.

Very true. But as far as I am aware a bit more expensive but as you say personal choice and you get what you pay for (in most cases) Some of the cheaper set's are a joke they really are awful
