I've never been that impressed with the 2.8 TGV engines I've driven... make good torque but very lazy and unwilling to rev due to longer stroke.

A HP (high power) 300Tdi will look standard, use virtually 100% standard parts, is possibly easier to insure etc etc.

Coupled with a proper exhaust and air intake a HP300Tdi would be a proper sheeps in wolfs clothing.
