Disco 2 transfer box - where to buy
I'm seriously considering swapping the transfer box on my 110.
As usual, part availability is VERY poor in Finland, and when found, prices are steep.

So, where would one go and buy D2 box needed for this conversion in UK?
Conditioned and new are of interest.

Cheers,
M

you can either get the D2 Q Q for quiet gear set and fit them into your TB or get a TB from a 300 tdi discovery that has centre diff lock

Did I get this right...
Two ways to do this.

1) Fitting gears of D2 box to my existing box

2) Switch to a 300tdi disco box

...right? Embarassed

and this one http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/in...oductId=44

Tells you about raising the gearing to make the Defender (pre Puma) better on roads by raisin the gearing... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Ah!!
So I can buy those gears only!
That would be great.

Thanks for your replies guys. I know nothing of this stuff, but try to learn.
Considering this is my third Defender, I should be ashamed. Embarassed

ashcrofts stock the Q gears aswell as refurbished TBoxes etc. if you can rebuild it locally the gears will be the cheapest option.
