Neferious doings, nay downright dirty deeds....
This afternoon at about 3.30 pm the All Ireland Final gets under way. Sort of like your FA cup. Up here things have been at fever pitch as it's 20 years since we last won it and 60 years since the other crowd won it.
Up here support has been shown by painting some of the local sheep in the county colours of yellow and green. Looks very well - yellow and green sheep in a field.
However someone kidnapped some of these rather fetching yellow and green sheep and painted them in the red and green of the other crowd. How low can you get. Of course something of this dastardliness had to be reported to the local boys in blue. This is when things started to get tricky.
Having formerly lodged the complaint of this underhand neferious deed out came this
"I did'nt know you owned sheep"
"What's that got to do with it? Anyone can lodge a complaint"
"Yes but you have to own the sheep in the first place to be allowed to paint them"
Why do the boys (and girls, the sergent) always know the law?
Then things began to get a little sticky in there.
"That reminds me about that radioactive tractor thing last year"
Why do the boys (and girls, the sergent) always have good memories?
"It was'nt really radio active, it was just gloss paint and glitter"
"What about the DO NOT TOUCH -RADIO ACTIVE sign?"
Time to leg it and make a fast getaway. Out to the series 111, key in, heat engine, push in starter button.
RRRRRRRR,pause,RRRRRRRRR, splutter, smoke - now for the quick get away.
Look right, nothing but smoke, look left, nothing but smoke, clutch in, jiggle gear lever, find first and off we leg it.
Someone wrote Up Donegal using bags of turf (peat) on a hillside. Someone of a low disposition went up at night and rearranged the bags in support of the other crowd. LOW, LOW, LOW, but it was rectified.
Did'nt get a chance to lodge a complaint about that while been grilled by the forces of law and order earlier.
Then there are the old cars lining the sides of the road painted in green and gold. You've guessed it. Some were repainted under the cover of darkness into the red and green of the other crowd. Talk about subversive activity - this has been a hot spot.
Thinking back to the decidedly unco-operative forces of law and order, that accent seems very like the other end of the country.....
Seems to me there are some odd people about. Whistle 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Well done Donegal !

As you know I was rooting for Mayo but, apart for the last 10 mins or so of the first half where they lost their focus, Donegal were pure class and 100% deserved victory.

Boy is there going to be some partying round your neck of the woods! Wish I was in Leo's tavern tonight !!!
