Anybody fitted a parrot hands free system in the defender? (Td5)

We use a TomTom with bluetooth no problems. 2.4 90 XS

Yeah I have, works fine in the td5. We put the microphone near the interior light and ran the wire across to the door pillar and down to the dash, use a good bit of wire. The main display I put on the dash top rail between the instuments and the radio.
So far so good, I just need to train my boss on correct operation!! In my puma I fitted the nokia version that I had taken out of my Tdi, not so good but I am going to replace it soon. 1999 90 TD5 County 1943 Ford GPW Jeep |

Do you need an adapter to get the Parrot kit to with the standard 90 CSW stereo?

I had a Nokia ck15 (I think can’t remember the model) in the 07 in the first 8 months I had it replaced 4 times. I was bloody useless, it had a mind of its own I would press one button and it would call someone completely different, I would have incoming calls and could not answer them. The company supplied and fitted it in the end would not answer my calls knowing I’d want another replacement! When the 09 arrived I had a Parrot put in and touch wood it has been alright and has a ipod connection though that does play up now and then but this maybe because I am old and don’t know how to use it.

i believe it does plug straight in as the puma stereo has std connections.
i changed my stereo for a Blau one and fitted a parrot at the same time, didnt have to change any sockets Cheers James 110 XS Utility 130 Puma Station wagon/camper (in the making) 90 Puma Hardtop |

As long as the LR radio has standard ISO connectors (ISO 10487 to be sad & exact), which it should, then the Parrot plugs into the loom between car and radio to draw power, and interrupt speaker connections for car kit when required.
I had a CK3000 on of the very early parrots that lasted 6+ years and two cars, alas I think it may be a dead parrot now. The new ones with display on the dash for phonebook and incoming caller look very flash! Also, if your changing the head unit, a lot of modern mid-range units have bluetooth and car kits built in now, the Kenwood ones have embedded parrots I heard recently... |
