England 2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Santorini Black
Big Black
My pride and joy, affectionately known as 'Big Black'. Because it's big. And black.

As you can probably tell its a County Hard Top. Got a hard top mainly becuase of the huge saving in road tax. The lack of seating isn't really a problem as I only have one friend.. Whistle ...... But I am thinking of getting a fold down seat for the back at some point in the future.

Choosing the colour was the hardest part of the whole buying experience! I was originally thinking of Tamar Blue, because it was similar to the Arles blue of my old 300Tdi, but it just didn't look right. I was considering Stonorway Grey for a long time, and was nearly going to go for it, then I saw how much the paintwork on Java Black ones glistens in the sun, and that sold it for me Very Happy

It was back at the dealers the morning after I picked it up as the bonnet kept on popping open, but it's run like clockwork ever since.

Did nearly 3000 miles round France a couple of weeks after I picked it up, and apart from a couple of occasions when it 'burped' and had a momentary lack of power in traffic it's been fine. And it's not 'burped' since! Seemed to run better on French derv too.....

Unfortunately it lost that new car smell a while ago:(

Cheers Smile

Been reading about the remap, is it something Land Rover will write to me about to get it booked in, or just something they'll do when it goes in for a service?

Cheers Grockle, I'll give them a ring soon.

Know what you mean Paul, due to when I passed my test I can't tow anything heavier than a yawn so wasn't really worth it at the time. Although I think it's the only Defender out there without a towbar........... I will be getting one fitted at some point though.

Nice one Thumbs Up

I'm planning on taking the plunge next year. Started off wanting a 90 HT, then thought the XS SW was more sensible. Now have got the missues pregnant again Very Happy (too much time on my hands, obviously !) - so now looking at a 110. Will go for the Utility as i much prefer the look of the 90 HT so will be a good compromise - and the road tax incentive too !

Enjoy your LR - looks superb !
