I've just also read, stupidity has hit the Lake District...
Like the Peak District some 6 years ago, traps are being put in puddles ie. bars with spikes welded on them to puncture tyres, of Laners, Trail Riders and MTB'ers.
What the rambling scum who do this don't realise is, Horses can also be hurt and when the poor little bobble hatted, ski pole adorning idiots with their Gore Tex fall and break a leg, the Mountain Rescue Land Rovers may also be 'stopped' by these 'traps'
