I've just built up a carPC, installed into a voomPC-2 enclosure with a 160w intelligent PSU unit, then installed a lot of software and a DVD re-writer.

Here's the specs:

*NEW* Intel "Atom" NC91-230-LF miniITX motherboard
1GB ram
1.6-Ghz
*NEW* 140BG hard drive (currently filled with 27.2GB of info, 84.5GB free space)
*NEW* DVD/CD RW (slimline)
*NEW* linITX boom 2 carPC box with 160w M2 ATX intelligent PSU



MS XP (registered and legal!) with SP3

LR microCAT 06/2009
MS office 2003
Roxio Easy CD Create v6

Jim, would it fit in the cubby box?, also does the power supply you mention provide safe shutdown and power on with the ignition? You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

Yeah, that PSU can be set (with jumpers) to turn off immediately with the ign, or to have timed periods (or just stay "on" with a low voltage cut-off), it's pretty flexible. clck the link on the advert and it'll take you to the LinITX site where i got it from, there's more in depth info on there.

The dimensions of the PC are 8.5" wide x 12" long x 3" tall.

might fit into a large cubby box, but probably not a factory fitted one.

Nice Jim. I have a very similar set up in my truckcab 90. Box bolts to the bulkhead behind my bucket seats. Very slim and you hardly notice it. Just need to update mine now Bow down 110 D250 SE HT
