My Defender journey
Thought you might like to see my progress through Defenders since I'm onto my 3rd one now!

First was bought as a total play thing and totally standard. It survived 2 years of offroad abuse before I had to sell it for something more practical on the motorway

Then shortly after moving house I bought the second one as a bit of a project and run-around. Turned out to need alot more work then I originally thought so it turned into a bit of a mission! Someone had started to build a rather tasty offroad toy out of a cut down Discovery chassis. Running most of the Disco gear and 88" wheelbase it was a hoot to drive. I eneded up having to replace both diffs, the whole interior, suspension, fuel tank and gearbox (for some reason it still had an LT77 in it, so that was swapped for a much nicer R380)

I did plan to do a V8 conversion, but it never got that far before I sold it on again to make room for another Defender... more on that in a minute

So that lead to the current Defender... "Lara" the 110 Tomb Raider Edition

Again it needs alot of work to get it how I want it, but it's getting there slowly. So far most of the mechanicals have been sorted out so the slightly dodgy body work is next

i do like the 110 DCs, well like the look of them not sure one would work for my use.

i see spotlights are a theme on all!

i like the comment you changed the white one for the 1st black one to be more comfortable on the motorway! Very Happy Cheers

Spot lights are a must, the standard headlights are pathetic Laughing

I didn't swap the white one for the black one, I had this in the middle

It was only a 1.7cdti, but being lighter as a van it went like stink Laughing I miss it, but I had to sell it to help fund the house deposit Sad

nothing wrong with that, it was one of the reasons I bought a 110. When you see the film car sat next to a 110 you can see the similarities! Very Happy

Plus having a roof is alot more practical in Scotland Laughing

Very nice !
Never been a great fan of chequer plating but on yours it looks tasteful and appropriate.
Not so sure about the bit of blue B&Q carpet on the loadspace floor though ! Laughing

Oi! that was my old bedroom carpet Laughing

It was kinder on the knees than the chequer plating and it matched the seats... plus it was easily removable Cool
