cavity wax
Just some advice on cavity wax, chassis etc all seem quite simple, what about the bulkhead my main concern is where to inject and to not end up with any wax on the interior of the car, thanks Jay

This has all be covered in depth before [no pun intended], check out Zag's corrosion thread and others. The inside of the bulkhead can be accessed via hinge screw and other bolt holes, holes in the bottom of the A pillar, rubber bungs under the windscreen and a number of other places - as I say it's already all on the forum Wink Steve.

Germany
Hi, I injected from the door hinges by unscrewing the top screws of the top hinges. Then there are the blanking plugs for the wiper arms and finally I put the extended nozzle in the outer boxsection from below the vehicle.

I tested the amount of wax coming out in a clear tube in advance. Then I pushed the nozzle in as far as it'd go, pressed the trigger on the injector gun and retrieved the nozzle slowly.

If you're really paranoid you could also lift off the stickers that cover some holes in the engine bay side of the bulkhead and inject from there.

So far I have had no excess wax flowing out. When installing a GPS antenna cable though, I could see that the inside of the bulkhead is covered in wax.

I use Mike Sander's Wax for the bulkhead and inside sections and FluidFilm and Permafilm for the outer surfaces. These are German products and I don't know if you can get them in the UK.

About 20 years ago I used Waxoil on my Series 3 and wasn't too happy about the result as it was very messy. But then that could also have been my inexperience and a very cheap manual Waxoil pump.

Good luck!

Boris

Just a quick update, done the chassis today with dinatrol, very easy and controlled no mess, just the bulk head and doors etc to do tomorrow, then there black wax on all the outside bits. Enjoyed doing this and hopefully will add a few years to the old girl. Jay
