Life is more comfy
Bought off mud with drink on board but alas no regrets.....a snow cover for the heater inlet.....bit of a posers thing, not very imo solid piece of plastic, looks good but while I had the egress open the water exit was blocked solid. I unblocked same so I may have saved myself a bit of hassle. Bought also a curry hook....look it up. It may come in handy. Most important I replaced on the driver side the handle that digs into your thigh with a mud flexi one. All I'll say is your driving comfort is vastly improved especially if your a 15 1/2 stoner like moi and every inch of space is a godsend.....it makes a world of a difference. Current...07 90 Puma commercial

I must be the only bloke that doesn't have mud rails and I'm not a shorty Confused My seat is one click from the furthest position back, my knee misses the handle and I don't have to look through the door pillar to see right. Maybe I have got so used to the Series upright forward position. It's not as bad as the granny resting her chin on the wheel though Rolling Eyes

You're not the only one, I'm over 6 foot, it's on the list to do though.

Your not the only one Exclamation I don't have any and I'm 5'11" / 6ft. And that's in a 90 HT with full bulkhead. Doesn't worry me too much. Thumbs Up

6'2" drive a TD5 110 Double Cab, seat 2 clicks from furthest back, no mud rails, and 3 yr old son still has leg room from his kids seat directly behind me.

5'9" and i need mine back as far as it will go...off the end of the standard runner infact! If i brake hard it will move forward. Must say that the later defenders seem to have more padded seats so maybe thats the issue,.

Mud rails on the list

yep me too. When the seat goes to the last click it will go a bit further but its OK as it stays there in my case. I thought it might slide forward on heavy braking but it doesn't and in this position the seat is perfect (I'm 6 ft) but only just. Its like Spinal Taps amp going to eleven ! Laughing - all the way to max and that little bit extra Cool

Can't belive it would be nicer to sit higher in a defender!

Don't like the idea that I would have to bend down every time I want to look out my side window, or am I missing something?

A very simple / quick modification is to pack some washers under the rear fixing of the front seat rails to allow the seat rail to move over the bodywork lip that runs behind the seat box, the seat will move further back, see if you need the extra travel.

The seat rails do this but additionally move the whole seat back 20-30mm from the existing fixings.
