It's not the clutch pedal. I can make the brake pedal squeak by wiggling it but it's a different noise so I dont think its that.

The difficulty is that it only makes the noise when moving, so I cant really stick my head down there to locate it more accurately

My 90 has just recently developed this squeak, identical to yours, it really does sound like its around the steering column, gotten a little louder in the last week.
Have you had any joy finding it yet?
I have the wife putting her head between me knees to try and pin point it, the folk round here are starting to talk  08 Puma 90xs

Silicone grease your bonnet hinge and see if that does it. That was my squeek. Now I regret getting rid of it after hearing how "helpful" your wife was.
