Late 2007 110XS SW
This is a bit of an odd one!
We have found a VW California we want to buy but it can only be held for a limited time.
Basically a local dealer is offering to buy it off us (non p/x) but if anyone is genuinely interested in a private sale, let me know in the next day or two.
Spec is: 44,800 miles, late 2007, Tonga green, chequer plate on wing tops, rear ball (height adjustable) tow bar, full LR rubber mats, 5 seat (NOT 7) as some early Pumas were (so huge boot), recent big service (all fluids, etc) at my indy garage (LR specialist), the rest main dealer, 11 months tax (£460!), about 10 months MOT, Wipac Crystal headlights recently fitted with Phillips Extreme bulbs (HUGE improvement!) but I still have the originals in a box, all the usual XS bits (heated seats, Brunel grille, ABS, TCS, plenty of tread of tyres (ermm - about 10mm?!), unmarked alloys, just been fully Waxoyled, new light surrounds (ones that don't rust!), new rear carpet grabber bit (the metal bit at the bottom of the rear door).
This one has had a lot of work done to it, almost all under warranty but I'm confident that all bits that often break, have been replaced with newer, better stuff - clutch (4 months ago - new ones are tougher AFAIK)), halfshafts (3 months ago) and one rear hub, brake vacuum pump (early ones were single sealed, new ones are double) plus new vent blower motor and resistors.
There are two cosmetic issues both present when we bought it Used Approved from the rather poor main dealer, Harwoods - two small cracks in the drivers seat (about £150 to re-trim) and a "ripple" in the NS rear wing. We didn't even notice it for a week and two LR people have said it's normal but another has said it could do with sorting.
Bearing in mind the above info and offers from LR dealers (two are very keen) if anyone is seriously interested, I'd take £17,000. Direct transfer/secure payments only. One local dealer is coming back with an offer on Tuesday having gone over it with a fine tooth comb. They commented on how good it looked. If they offer us near the above price, we'll take it. TBH I don't like selling privately but I know that Defender owners (or potential ones) are proper enthusiasts and for some reason, I tend to trust them. I'd only do test drives myself though.
So a bit of an odd one but thought I'd offer it here just in case anyone was looking.
I have all receipts, wax it regularly and am a bit of a "detailer" geek.
Ripple on rear (along rivet line) - this was after a long, wet drive so it's a bit mucky!

Done a load of price checking and dealers seem to be offering similar mileage/spec examples for £19-21k (yes £21k is a bit steep).
Need to move quickly and we are very inconveniently located near Truro in Cornwall. I could drive a little up country if anyone is interested. This will be available until about mid next week!Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.
