If you resell it after claiming income tax relief and reclaiming all the VAT [for which you must be VAT registered], then you would pay tax on its sale and you would legally need to charge VAT and pay it on to HMRC. So you gain very little except for a big bunch of extra paperwork to do.

Nice idea, but you have to pay tax on the proceeds of the sale.
And also, if you've claimed the VAT back on the purchase you have to charge VAT to the buyer.

That would be great if you could, but being vat registered to claim the vat back, means that if you sell the vehicle a day later, you’d have to charge vat on the net price you sell for.
