I suspect a blown 10AS fuse. If you had central locking I would suspect a broken wire between a second row door and the b post. However you may still have the wiring even if no central looking.
So check 10AS fuses and if a replacement blows then check door wiring. Ps when you changed the fob battery (CR2032) did you check there is no clear plastic insulator left on the battery for transit ( it’s happened before) . Also have you re synced the fob, it may have lost sync. Process - with doors shut press lock 4/5 times in quick succession, then unlock once Wiring diagrams https://www.lrworkshop.com/wiring-diagram/...tem/active https://www.lrworkshop.com/wiring-diagram/...em/passive Fuse box’s https://www.lrworkshop.com/electrics/defen...nd-headers If not fuses or fob battery then remove Instrument cluster , remove wiring connector, shunt (use wire , paper clip etc to bridge ) pins 3 and 4 and see if engine starts. If it does it’s the cluster pcp . This is only on the 2.4 |

Hi Ian
Yes I did. I’d tried all sorts of things but in the end this is what made it work. The fob had list sync. Unplugged the 10AS and left it for 20 minutes Removed the battery from the bob and pressed the buttons to discharge any capacitors. Repowered the 10AS Re-inseted the battery. Held the fob near the tbe 10AS Plipped 4 times quickly 5th plipped de-armed the immobiliser. Thanks for you ideas and help. Called loads of people who sucked their teeth and said that the box would have to go away for repair. Happy days!! Only three hours late arriving in Fort William!!! 2011 130 Utility Body 2005 110 Van |

Defenders have a mischievous spirit and know just when to play up, invariably when your are on an important journey, and never at home when you have some spare time .
Glad the re sync worked. One thing to note for the future is a low fob battery is indicated by the red alarm light saying on when the engine is started and running. For those with central locking another Indicator is only one side of the indicators flash (not both as normal) when you lock / unlock the vehicle) |
