Whatever part you carry, the other one will fail. Your Td5 however had less parts so your changes of carrying the right part is increased.
Software is the new rust, the time your could fix your non working car on the side of the road are largely gone. Cars will be retired not because the battery lost capacity, but because of (planned) lack of software supposed required to repair them, after say a screen failure. Just enjoy your car and move it on to buy a new(er) one. Maybe you will find that as you get older you realize it's all a hype and you will gravitate to simpler cars where less can go wrong |

In general, the software is easily diagnosed and in most cases rectified using the GAP IID G4 tool which is available to everyone and, although fairly expensive, will pay its way many times over. Just plugging a diagnostic tool into your LR once at a main dealer will almost cover the whole cost of the G4 tool. Since it is a Canadian company I’m fairly sure it can be set to the French language.
