Silly question. Have you checked the air filter is fully “home” and the air box lid is locked in under the wing, (2 hinge like clips) and thus creates the perfect seal?
Don’t ask me how I know this _________________________________________ 2015 110 Montalcino Red Utility "Harriet" along with Puma on I.C.E |

Just to clarify,
1. have you replaced all 3 hoses, inc the elbow into the inlet manifold ? That one can hole on its underside. 2. Are you 100% sure the Intercooler is not leaking as they do fail at the crimped seam. If elbow replaced, you are 100% sure it’s not the Intercooler and all the clamps have been checked I have heard of the inlet manifold having a crack in it and causing a P0101 fault, but only once so a potential cause but very unlikely. I suppose the throttle body could have an issue and not be fully open, however I’ve not read any reports of that happening either. |

I don’t know if this will help, but I’ve had p0101 five times in six years:
1. Elbow hose split, which a smoke test failed to find. 2. Intercooler seam split. 3. Upper hose. 4. Changed maf as a precaution & needed to put the original back! 5. Clamp needed tightening. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon. |

On the MAF, some sites state the same part for the 2.4 and 2.2 and invariably send the 2.4 MAF. This is incorrect, they are different and a 2.4 one won’t work properly in a 2.2. Just thought it worth pointing out.

Thanks to everyone with there advice.
I tried everything and found the fault. The smoke test never helped but compressor at 30psi found the leak in the intercooler. |

It’s a very common fault, it fails at the crimp seams.
Bell auto services make and sell the best high flow intercooler as a replacement. That will last a lifetime as all is welded. However I don’t think Pete has any left in stock and I’m wondering if he is going to get any more made. However he also recommends and stocks one from Airtec which is well made. https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/land-...tercooler/ You can get from Airtec direct as well https://www.airtecmotorsport.com/products/land-rover/defender/ You can’t take full advantage of the new high flow IC unless you have a map, however I noticed a good improvement to engine performance when used with new silicon hoses and upgrading the air intake pipework from the highly restrictive LR setup to a much larger bore circular hose. |

I literally fitted the Artec on the advice of BAS a week ago! What a difference!!! It’s incredibly well made, and night and day on the stock item. Shafski
