If anyone fancy stretching their Land Rover legs in West Norfolk, this is always a fun day out.
It's not specific to Defenders so is open to all Land Rovers. I think it is maybe the 9th or 10th year of running it and only stopped for Covid in 2020 and I have been on every one. I will paste the email that was sent to me below. It says I can pass the email on. You just need to reply to the email address in the message to register and then rock up with some cash on the day. There are usually over 100 Land Rovers and it is very well organised if a bit chaotic as everyone leaves at the start. For no other reason, I recommend the extra £5 for a drive around the Muckleburgh Museum Tank Track and the photo opportunity of all the Land Rovers parked up in front of Holkham Hall at the end. Hi All, I know a number of you will be happy to hear that the date has been set for this years Firefighters Charity Land Rover Run, this will be on Sunday 19th October 2025. The start location will be the East Car Park at Bawsey Country Park W3W location mistaking.recipient.fish We will open the reception at 08:00 and would like to start the route at 10:00 so please arrive early. Hot refreshments are available from the Hub at Bawsey Country Park, again I would advise arriving early if you wish to buy a bacon roll etc. The route is still being finalised however we are planning a stop at Muckleburgh Tank Collection as we have in previous years and a finishing location at Holkham Hall. There will be some light Off-road sections, these will be nothing more than a family car could cope with but your vehicle may get some dirt on it. It will be another great day out driving Land Rovers through some picturesque parts of Norfolk whilst raising money for the Firefighters Charity. We will keep the entry fee at £10 per vehicle, should you wish to drive the Tank Range at Muckleburgh we ask for a donation of £5 per vehicle. We are unable to take card payments so please bring plenty of cash with you on the day. There will be a raffle at Holkham. Please feel free to pass this email on to any of your friends or family that would like to attend. Booking is simply be emailing me Rigil.kent@norfolk.gov.uk with your details and how many vehicles will be partaking. The closing date for booking will be Friday 17th October at midday. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 19th October. Thank you for your continuous support to the Firefighters Charity. Kind regards, Rigil Kent, Station Manager- Heacham, Fakenham, Sandringham and Wells fire stations Community Fire Protection/Wildfire Support Officer |

Not sure who got round to going on the Fire Fighters Land Rover Charity Run yesterday in Norfolk?
I know seriesonenut was there as I follow him on Instagram and saw his post ![]() ![]() I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but one of the Fire Cadets said they had between 350-400 Land Rovers registered and raised over £5000 which isn't bad at all for their charity. Some lovely Series Land Rovers, a couple of Lightweights and three Forward Controls which are all a joy to see out on the road. I parked up next to a very nice looking Range Rover Classic at the start. I had forgotten A) how small they look now and B) You don't often see them on the road these days ![]() ![]() It is always an impressive site when everyone is parked up in front of Holkham Hall at the end. Thanks to the Earl of Leicester for messing his lawn up and running the fountain for a good photo, the Muckleburgh Military Collection at Weybourne for a Lunch stop and a trip round their Tank Track and Bawsey Country Park where the run started off and opening their cafe for a coffee and bacon roll. I have done every one of these runs since they started and enjoyed them all. There were quite a few Tea on the Tailgate 1st Birthday events this weekend so the good attendance is even more surprising. |

Hi Rashers
yes I was there but in my brothers green A plate 1984 One Ten. Mine disgraced itself, as I backed off the drive at 6.15 am the brake lights stopped working! We were coming as a pair but that did not happen. Anyway a great day out and already looking forward to 2026! ![]() Click image to enlargenorfolk by Richard Holmes, on Flickr 1984 One-Ten CSW 2010 XS USW (sold) 1957 Series One 88 diesel 1958 Series One 88 4x2 1990 Defender 200tdi CSW (sold) 1989 Land Rover Ninety (sold) 1998 Discovery 2 (sold) 1995 Discovery 1 (auto) (sold) 1990 Discovery 200tdi (sold) 1987 One Ten CSW turbo diesel (sold) Last edited by seriesonenut on 20th Oct 2025 9:37pm. I’m really sorry to hear that, but glad you made it in the end, even just as the navigator.
Maybe you won’t be incognito next year and I will come and say hello |

I drive a 14 Plate 110 Utility with black pack in Corris Grey. It’s pretty much a standard vehicle. I say that because walking around, you realise, that is actually quite unique in the world of Defenders ![]() |

Sorry, no idea, landy andy I wasn’t aware there was going to be an off road bit until the email on the Saturday night saying they had to cancel it. This is a complete guess but I bought my truck from what was Hunters in King’s Lynn. When I test drove it they had a route in and around the old sand quarries of Bawsey where they took you for an off road test drive. I wondered if it might have been round one of the adjacent quarries? That’s just a guess. |

I also noted that the dog of choice for the majority of Land Rover Owners on Sunday is the Spaniel, shortly followed by the Labrador. Sadly I had to leave my two Labradors at home on Sunday but I did get a lot of attention during the raffle from a 4 month old Border Terrier puppy who like my Labradors, has a liking for eating Sheep Poo. I’ll stick to the bacon rolls please

It was a great day, apparently a lot more turned up than were booked on so maybe that's why they cancelled the off road section????
My spaniel loved it, she gets excited to be part of the Spaniel Mafia. Your Brothers 110 was very nice, had a good look at that. See you all next year. |
