When the vehicle initially broke down, the O/P said he found the air filter "soaked with water". l would wonder how this came about, and whether it has any bearing on the continued issues with the vehicle.
l don't know how the air filter could get soaked with water in normal operation. How could this have happened? |

Ah, the air filter soaked with water! This also happened to a friend with a Defender TD5.
Basically, he had a leak in the raised air intake, and one day, in heavy rain, water was sucked in and reached the paper air filter, which disintegrated and clogged the air intake. I question if the engine has been setup with the timing being 180 degrees out
