InControl Theft Warning
For only the second time (can’t even remember the first) my InControl theft warning went off as we were on a ferry from Corsica to Toulon. I’ve been on other ferries, and Eurotunnel previously and this never had this. I’m not complaining and it’s good to see that LR got it too and rang me.

However, why didn’t it happen on previous occasions? For example when we took the ferry from Toulon out to Corsica 2 weeks earlier?

be aware that this is just an assumption: the car is pinged from time to time by JLR, if it could not be reached (it was on the ferry, in the "middle" of the Mediterranean Sea) they assume that something is fishy. Therefore the call. Maybe the other times the car was still reachable or you fell between those ping intervals. This behaviour would be consistent also with the one reported by other owners where they had a low battery. 25.5MY 110 P300e Carpathian grey

Put the car in Transport Mode on the app. It is specifically there for when on a ferry or train.

When I bought my Defender I legged it to make the ferry & the ferry company told all the owners to make sure the motion alarms are not switched on as the rolling ocean can set it off and run flat batteries.
I went through my menus on Pivi in a hurry and could not find anything to shut off. I also did not have my account set-up to use the app to do this. And even if I did, the car was already in the hull and shielded from all reception.

If your InControl account subscription expires, then what? No more app to activate 'transport' mode?

So there are two things you need to do:
Turn off the alarm:
- in the car: ignition on. Go go menu , settings -> Vehicle -> Security -> Alarm sensors . Turn it off. Shut the ignition and leave the car.
If you open and close it again it will be on.
Turn off the tracker:
- in the app. Go to vehicle settings -> turn on either transport mode or maintenance mode by setting it to a certain end time/date

Regarding your question, no of course you don’t need an app to turn of the alarm. And if you want to turn of the tracking you’d have to have a subscription to that anyway.

Some European models Activate all the sensors on the first lock. Other countries differ.

Always a big problem when my dog was in the car on my front seat and I needed to get out shortly.
Alarm was very quick activated and I got a call from Incontrol.

So with the GAP IIDTOOL V4 changed the setting to :

MultiCAN-563 AlrmSensOnSingLock
No Alarm Sensors on Single Lock

Double Lock all sensors are activated. No Mud flaps for my 90.!

Oh that’s brilliant! I do the alarm setting dance every time now with my dig until i’m fed up and just leave the car unlocked haha.
Thanks for the pointer !
