I don't know the answer but I'd be more confident in the Juice Motors video, they are at least a garage, rather than a Cosmetic Surgeon with a Defender😜
I have been wrong, many, many times though😉 https://pvg-portal.ridefox.com/_context/fo...1657661032 Craig. “Don't believe everything you read on the internet.” ― Abraham Lincoln www.scotgrc.co.uk |

Operation wise I doubt it makes any odds which way up they go.
Traditional shocks had a plastic protective sleeve to cover the piston end. They were fitted with the sleeve facing down (piston up) to stop crud going up the sleeve. Later shocks didn't have the sleeve and with remote res shocks most are generally fitted piston down, then the remote res pipework wa sup out of the way, any debris doesn't sit on the piston seal and the body of the shock is protected being higher up. Rear shocks with an eye, Well its determined for you. As you note pin/pin front can be harder to work out. Being a monotube without an external reservoir, it does not matter which way you fit them. However, most people leave the shaft side like the second picture. Puma 110" SW
