CSI or Optimill front washer fitting
Hello

For anyone who has already done this, did you change the pump / pipe also or just add the new spray unit.

I need to sort mine as dispite changing the inline bit of plastic it was good for a little bit and now dire again, would rather sort before winter.

I've ordered the CSI one and added the pump and pipe, I just wonder if I actually need them? Maybe just fit and try and see what I think. Thumbs Up

I replaced the jet and the pump as it was barely doing anything.

I removed the one way valve temporarily and blew the pipe through from the inside and then the bit in the engine bay with an airbrush compressor to make sure it was clear. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green- Slowly Turning into Keswick Green - It's a keeper.

I fitted the Optimil system and replaced the pipe and pump. Night and day difference.

I have s design and development engineering front washer jet, obtained at a very good price from a member who decided not to fit it.

Once fitted it performed well with existing pump, but if I needed a better pump I would purchase the disco 2 headlight washer pump.

Have the CSI nozzles installed front and rear but they did not come with the pump and pipe. I only found out about the pump and pipe after and only available from CSI. If not, where else can they be had? I bought my set from 4x4Overlander.

In any case, they work OK as they spread the windscreen washing fluid in a fan like pattern rather than just the spot squirt of the originals. Covers more of the windscreen in one go so will also help save on washer fluid. Same for the rear. As mentioned, running stock pump still. If I can buy the pump and new pipes separately, may upgrade still as I'm curious to see the difference.

Wanted Optimill but they were transitioning their site and comms were spotty so had to look for alternatives as I had a schedule to keep and had to finalize my upgrade budget. No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy

Thanks all

I will report back, when I fit it, I may just fit the spray unit and see what its like before comitting to the pipe and pump.

I do like the optimil stuff (I have a few bits) but tend to hear issues with cleaning products on them.

As this part is functional more than looks the CSI part should be (I hope) better than what I have had for 10 years Thumbs Up

If you were just spitting on your windscreen from five meters away it would still be an improvement, so I expect you'll be happy. Very Happy
