Enable swiveling lights on turns?
Hi all,

On all of my prior/present JLR vehicles, except the L663, I had lights where the headlights would turn slightly when cornering. I found this incredibly useful when going down our tight, 1-lane country roads with trees on both sides. This included a '16 LR4 HSE Lux, '15 L405 SC, and '18 Jag XF-S Sportbrake.

I have 2025 X-Dynamic SE with the 'Signature LED' lights, and I know they have some sort of motor/adjustment, as when you turn the vehicle on the lights first move up and then back down. But, when cornering, they remain pointed with the vehicle, reducing my ability to pick up obstacles on the edge of the road as I'm coming around a corner. Overall, I find the light pattern slightly worse than everything but the LR4, but that's a convo for another time Smile

Is there a CCF option to enable the headlights to turn slightly towards the direction of turn like my other JLR vehicles?

I suspect swivelling lights would require extra hardware as the norm is just up/down as. I’m not sure if the Defender was ever fitted with it.

I think some higher spec models had the feature where the fog lights are used on turns to illuminate to the side, that could possibly be enabled by CCF edit if fog lights are fitted?

I think what you are referring to when you start up the car and the lights go up and down is the " Automatic Headlight Levelling"

As far as I am aware the Defender does not have the "Dynamic Bend Lighting" or the older "Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS)"
Dynamic Bend Lighting is on the Pixel LED headilghts, and the Defender only has the Matrix LED headlights.

However in certain driving modes, when you turn the steering the fog lamps come on in the direction of steering, and when you indicate and turn 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof

yes, I confirm, I have fog light illumination after turning the steering wheel. Personally, I don't think it's very good, the turning of the lights, which I had in the Jaguar, was better and more effective. Now it looks like a Hyundai..

I can also confirm that even with the HSE with Matrix LED, there's no dynamic cornering, but rather just the corresponding fog light—that's so old-fashioned.
I've only had mine for 1,000 km and have never driven it in complete darkness, so the high beams have never turned on, so I don't know how it would behave then. But now that autumn is approaching, I'll find out soon enough. 25.5MY 110 P300e Carpathian grey
