Beautiful photos, loved the island when I was there a few years ago. Not may places have a speed limit on the beach and watch out for planes landing !

MM, did you let the tyre pressures down anywhere, and if so, did you need to cancel the warning every start?

![]() Click image to enlarge Been on 2 sand excursions of late and each time deliberately NOT deflated to see how far I can push it. 2nd outing on the beach had pretty deep sand and tracks and with momentum, it just took everything in its stride. I then deliberately stopped in the thick of it to see if I can get out on just auto mode. Immediately figured that is not going to work, so on to plan B - engage low range and low traction launch. Colour me impressed, it kept moving forward ever so slowly until it was going to get seriously bogged. I did a short reverse and set off again and I was out with no troubles. Still firmly in the 40psi club! Airing down to something less than road pressure in sand is always my preference, just for the record. |

I did air down to 18psi, made it very easy, there was a lot of soft sand, we were up near Nāgala. The Tyre Pressure screen stayed on which I liked as I could keep an eye on pressures when we were running at 80kmph on the hard sand, which remained very stable for the week I ran aired down. |

In January when we where there we had 20 PSI on the fronts and 22 on the rear, however
they had plenty of rain the week before which would have firmed up the tracks.. yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |
