62 plate with new engine, turbo and injectors: loss of power
I have just bought and driven 200miles, I have noticed a slight judder when driving at 1500 - 2000rpm as if there is no power for a split second. It’s only accelerating.

And driving along a dual carriageway around 70mph there is an occasional pop (duck quack!) sound, again accelerating.

All back home but just wondering if anyone has experienced this…

The previous owner has spent a small fortune on new genuine LR engine, turbo, injectors, glow plugs, clutch.

Is it after just going into gear? If so could be clutch switch.

Worth checking the DM’s for wear as well. ____\We|Will|Win/___

Update - went for a diagnostic and showed nothing.

However a member on here who I have just bought something off, suggested removing and cleaning the MAF sensor. Been round the block and so far so good.

Many thanks.

Clean the MAP as well if you can whilst you are at it, worth doing that too. Thumbs Up ____\We|Will|Win/___

I believe the OP’s vehicle is a 2.2. As such it does not suffer the same VCV issues as the 2.4.

Note: I have yet to find a post on here where a 2.2 VCV was at fault, this may be the first one, but there is no history of them failing. Unlike the 2.4 where Hank righty points out the VCV fails and no DTC’s are shown!

So here is the update, I bought it with a brand new replacement engine, turbo, injectors, clutch.

There was popping and loss of power so the turbo was changed under warranty, strangely there was a small amount of popping but nothing like before.

It’s ben stored away for a few months and had some work done, panels, paint etc and then DPG light came on and good drive in low gear with high revs cleared that fault.

Straight though mot.

Then last night DPF light came on and just left engine running and the fault cleared and since then (only driven small distance) it’s running absolutely 100% smooth with no popping.

What I would like to establish is what’s the process for DPF light to regen and sensors, as I am thinking I have an intermittent fault/connection somewhere!!

Your DPF has two small pipes going from the DPF to the The differential pressure sensor. This sensor measures the pressure across the DPF and therefore the ECU can use this information to understand how full the DPF is.

So check the two pipes from the DPF to the sensor to insure they are not blocked, not kinked and fit air tight on DPF and sensor.

Also check connector and wires to the DPF differential pressure sensor to ensure connections are good, clean, cables are intact and connector is mating correctly.

Ahhh, the issue has returned!!

Ianh, I will take a look. Does anyone have any pics or diagrams of the pipes etc.

Anyone else had this issue - splittering and popping from behind the air intake on drivers side wing (vertical)

I have a picture of the dpf set up , but not on the vehicle, but it shows the metal pipe locations on the dpf body.. they run into flexible rubber pipes which connect to the sensor which is in turn located on the bulkhead around the inertia switch location..

Just had a quick look at the other posts.. are you just trying to establish they are clearing not blocked..
You shouldn't need to remove them from the dpf to check.. go to the sensor end and disconnect them.. have a blow down each pipe..
They would be a pain to get off the unit in situe..
I cant recall seeing the pressure of that sensor on any scan tool I've used but someone might know differently.. you would think it should be available..

You may have to run a recalibration or learn process of the dpf pressure sensor. Such special function is available on dedicated or aftermarket capable diagnostic tools. Puma 110" SW
