I can’t help but laugh at all the snowflakes on instagram wanting Jaguar cancelled because of a teaser advert with people wearing bright clothes and a drawing of a pink car. The internet really is a very strange place. WARNING.

In my corner of the internet, which - I suspect is the ideologically inverse of your own - all I see is mockery and laughter, combined with a health dose of lament over the inevitable downfall of a once iconic brand. The only form of "cancelation" is going to be the aggregated effects of individuals making market choices with their purchases, which I suspect will not be going to newJag.

The only thing that is going to "cancel" Jaguar is the free market. And for good reason. 2022 Defender 110 SE P400 Tasman Blue Expedition and Cold weather package

That sounds like Instagram but I don’t use the internet for ideology, that concept is completely alien to me.

I reckon Jaguar may have the last laugh here. Take a moment to think about it. The world’s richest man and everybody’s favourite South African Mr Elon Musk put a car on a rocket and launched it into space to orbit the Earth. He spent $44 billion on Twitter to promote himself, his products and his views. He practically got married to the president, costing hundreds of millions in the process. He hosted umpteen launches including smashing up a car and last month presenting the first self driving taxi (which is an amazing feet btw). He is one of the best the world has ever seen at self promotion and yet little old Jaguar got more press than Tesla, the most valuable car company in the world, by deliberately trolling with a drawing of a pink car.
If that image had been BRG with no teaser advert then I doubt it would have made it past the trade papers or specialist car sites. When Jaguar eventually launch their first ‘new’ car the whole world will be watching. Fingers crossed it’s a good one. WARNING.

I can’t quite believe how much guff they can get into a single presentation.

I also can’t believe that a brand (JLR) that above anything else is renowned for its awful electrics, is deciding to launch a brand new car whilst developing all new, game-changing electrical technology. That’s doomed to fail. Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I would have loved to have seen the Type 00 packing a V12 but it’s not a realistic business plan. Jaguar are better off embracing the electric future than going back to building diesels, fashionable SUV’s and rebadged Ford Mondeos. WARNING.

It’s okay they’ll engineer in a locked driveline to a E motor so it can’t be moved if it breaks down. Rolling with laughter

Imagine if that happens in the fast or middle lane of the motorway, it can even happen with Electronic handbrakes.

jaGuar gets an honorable mention in this satirical piece. About the backlash by the woke mafia, directed at Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle's ad. For having a cute blond with great genes and jeans . Only watch if you have a sense of humor.

Very nice of JLR's CEO to step down just before the release of the Type 00.

Didn't want to see the soaring success of the bread he's had in the oven for the past few years?

My local JLR dealer tore off their Jag logo on their brand new building and instead now have the LR green oval with "Authorized Jaguar Service Center" in fine print on the bottom of the business cards. 2022 Defender 110 SE P400 Tasman Blue Expedition and Cold weather package

I saw that a few days ago, "retired".....

Hopefully the 00 production vehicle will be good. It does appeared aimed at a very niche market. I think of the movie Hunger Games, and the citizens of the capital.

Choice car for social media influences and rap moguls? I can imagine 6ix9ine with one, without insurance.

Overly long bonnet for an EV.

Like Zed said, I think it is very clever.

They have been trying to compete against BMW and Mercedes for years without success and have just become a euro saloon.

Look at all the high end coach built specials being sold to people with real money, they look bloody awful and tasteless.

I think they are going after that market, if the masses don’t like it or “understand” it then it will be exclusive.

For example I cannot see the appeal of a big flashy tasteless watch but the market for them is healthy.

Again I agree with Zed but Jag as we know and like is dead.

JLRs managing director, who is very much behind the advert and rebranding of JLR, is called Rawdon Glover, which some wags on the net, with a slight changing of the spacing, have recast as Raw Dong Lover Rolling with laughter

Rewatching the advert It all seems to make logical sense now Very Happy
