Steering Tension Point
Fellow community,
I am just in the process of getting my MOT and in the First run they pointed out that there is a „tension point“ when steering to the right. If the Steering Wheel is in middle position and the driver starts spinning the Wheel a few degrees to the right, you can feel tension Building up to one single point. When releasing the Steering Wheel at this Point it goes by itself back Torwards middle position to Release the tension. What‘s your guess where to Look at to solve that issue? Maybe steering joints are not in Place properly? The issue is only Happening on one specific Point on the radius.

Ask them to make roundabouts that you go around clockwise, so you bed in the steering Rolling with laughter

Sorry, I am sure that will not help. Perhaps you can pop off the drag link from the steering drop arm, and check if the so called tension point can still be felt. This would tell you if its a box issue of steering linkages/swivel issue. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

My starting point would be to remove the steering damper, check it’s installation and operation.
