Windscreen sealing
I had my perished original seal replaced with a genuine LR one last year. It now leaks worse than the original one ever did. Now idea why and I can't face dealing with the place that did ot, just easier to sort myself.

I understand you can use some sort of non-setting sealant to supplement the rubber seal. Does anyone have a link to this stuff tip of how to apply?

I assume just prize the seal back and squirt this stuff under?... 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The windscreens seals were, I am told, "value-engineered" during the production of the old Defender, and the value-engineered seals leave a lot to be desired both in terms of their sealing ability and their durability. My local independent windscreen fitted advised that if you have early seals in good condition, then don't replace them. If you have the later type (or aftermarket seals) expect to replace them every few years.

Mine is a genuine one, not sure of when it was made as I bought NIB off another forum member a couple of years ago. It is not cracked or perished, it just isn't keeping the water out. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The place that last did mine used/recommended a stuff called ‘arbomast’. I got a couple of tubes and I think it’s OK - may not be much different to anything else of the same ilk tho’. Donald

It seems that arbomast was developed for the marine market but appears to be only available in grey. Defender 90XS SW
