Sounds like your master cylinder is bypassing, a common, age-related failure.

A Nanocom can do a power bleed , a modulator bleed , a front right test , front left test, rear right test and rear left test on a 2.4 with Wabco ABS.
If a member nearby has one I’m sure they can help you out |

Thanks for the reply’s. Ianh thanks for the info , I will try a track down a Nanocom in the RG9 area.
Jbcollier it’s Interesting what you say about the master cylinder possibly bypassing. Would this not show a fluid leak somewhere? I can’t see any staining. Do you think this possibly fault might trigger random ABS? Thanks Paddy.[/b] |

I was messing about today trying to power bleed mine after pads, discs and all four calipers rebuilt, didn't have much luck managed to bleed it on my own the manual way.
I have a 2011 2.4 - I don't think its a wabco, there are no labels on it but ai thinks its a bosch unit by the part numbers. Like you I have an icarsoft lr2 and although abs power bleed is not listed under defender i was able to choose range rover and get into and access the abs that way, it went through the motions and told me to do what wheel and press the brake pedal, i thought wow! unfortunately it the pump didn't energise. I also tried sdd and that was the same, going step by step but no abs pumping. 1953 80" 1987 mini city e 2011 90" |

I was just told to find a hardly used straight road / track then run to speed then slam on the brakes to get the ABS to work and purge any possible air inside
![]() Honestly haven't tried it so not sure how effective. ![]() Mind you, I was told to do it multiple times to boot! ![]() |

A sinking pedal with no loss of fluid usually means the master is bypassing internally.

Okay,,,thanks to all the replies. Looks like this weekend. I will be replacing the master cylinder and then probably do a manual bleed to see if there’s any improvements. Hoping this will also help with the random triggering of the ABS. Thanks again .
