Remember the 2008 needed a turbo rebuild, new injectors and an engine removal for repairs?
I went to collect the new injectors for the 2008 Puma in the 2011 Puma . When I got home and parked up I noticed oil, a lot of oil under the 2011 Puma. I got down to check. The top of the front axle was covered in oil leaving the shape of it on the ground. I pulled the bonnet. There was oil on the underside of the bonnet, on the front of the engine and sump. It looked like a crankshaft oil seal and the vacuum breakpump had started to leak. Got the mechanic down. Removed the fan cowl and fan and cleaned off the oil and started it up. Nothing. So I left it until the mechanic could collect and take it to the work shop. Turned that oil had been forced out onto the plastic cover over the injectors then the fan did the rest. There was oil in the top of one of the cylinders and oil on the top of the air filter. The injectors had some residue on them and the oil pick up showed some blockage. The 2008 had a nearly blocked oil pick up pipe, timing gear was crudded up and one of the cylinders heeded honed and a new piston. The cost of repairs for the above, including recovery of the 2008 and engine removal etc came to €4800. It was while both Pumas were down we had to go to hospital with our daughter. I loaded up the 1992 200 tdi 110 and off we went...eventually. The first two turns of the starter motor went "click". Not ideal when you are heading to the hospital with your daughter. Started on the third turn of the key. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |
