Next to the wording “tap an image to add it to your message” is a red cross icon: tap that to clear the list

Won't that delete the images in the posts too?
We have too many posts that are supposed to be helpful but become vague due to the missing / deleted photos. Is there a way to persevere the photos in the post so that they remain helpful? No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy |

Martin's reply tells how to remove the image from the "post a reply" or "post new message" dialogue, this does not remove the message from the server not from any messages containing that image.
If you want to remove an image from the server you can only do it from your gallery - open the image in your gallery and then click "DELETE THIS FILE" immediately under the image. This can, as far as I can determine, only be done for one image at a time, there is no bulk delete (at least not for non-admins). Deleting the image from your gallery will cause it to stop appearing in any thread to which it was posted and will result in an empty border with a small icon in the top corner, which is rather annoying for everyone else. If you really do want to delete images, for example you listed an item for sale, it has sold, and therefore the image is no longer relevant, the ideal way would be to edit the post to remove the displayed image prior to deleting the image from your gallery on the server. Please note that the above represents my conclusions and opinions and may not be forum policy - only Martin can speak authoritatively on policy since it is his forum. |
