Gear Knob hitting aftermarket head unit help?
hi guys just imported a 10.1" head unit with a detachable screen now the problem i have is when im in the following gears 1, 3, 5, it hits the bottom of the screen unfortunately it sticks out that far but i wont be lost at the battle atleast for now.

I'm using a td5 dash in my 110 so im using the default td5 single din console how ever ive seen aftermarket consoles with blank plates on the top where hazards and other switches would usually be https://www.sp-4x4.com/product_p/mud-0003.htm how ever i dont want to be creating new holes for every switch im going to have wired in but my idea is to have my head unit installed on the top hazard area so that my screen does not interfere with the gears at all

There was one guy on here back in 2018 who made a prototype but he didnt publish the file or give out any access to it publicly as what he made would of been perfect for me from what it looks like so any help/advice id be very grateful

also 10.1" screen may seem overkill but every man loves his gizmos

Can you fit a slick shift or similar to your gearbox, that reduces the throw of the gear lever? Or just bend / adjust the shaft.

I've got a Slickshift on my 300Tdi and it really does make it easier to drive. The reduced throw of the stick makes it feel less like driving a 1940s lorry...!! I've got the post-02 TD5 dash in my 90 too and there's a solid couple of inches clearance between the knob and the face of the head unit at the most forward position of the stick so plenty of room.

Hope that helps? Cheers,

Paul
